Solution

We have $4 y^{2}-4 y+1$

$=(2 y)^{2}-2(2 y)(1)+(1)^{2}$

$=(2 y-1)^{2}$                                     $\left[\because a ^{2}-2 ab + b ^{2}=( a – b )^{2}\right]$

$=(2 y-1)(2 y-1)$
